Longmorn Distillery
A rich and weighty whisky indeed, Longmorn has a long tradition of making a relatively heavy spirit for adding ‘punch’ to blends, typically those of its owner Chivas. Founded by John Duff, who previously founded Glenlossie distillery nearby, Longmorn is still to this day a ‘heavy hitter’.
Not to be confused with The Glenlivet Distillery, Longmorn is another one of the Speyside crowd that, in times past, would have ‘Glenlivet’ in its distillery name. This can still be observed in older Independent Bottlings as ‘Longmorn-Glenlivet’. As a single malt, Longmorn is much bolder in flavor than The Glenlivet, for sure.
Character expected from Longmorn depends mainly on cask used in maturation: its heavy, robust style suits all casks types, and as such a variety of profiles, including cereal, nutty and fruity can be found. However, what you can expect from all is exquisite bursts of flavor with great viscosity.
A malt for enthusiasts with all the badges.

Speyside single malts are single malt Scotch whiskies, distilled in Strathspey, the area around the River Spey in Moray and Badenoch and Strathspey, in northeastern Scotland. Although generalized, known as a region that produces delicate and fruity whisky, many styles are produced here. Almost half of Scotland's distilleries are situated here, on the banks of the United Kingdom's fastest flowing river.
